Glorify God

But Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalm 3:3

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. Psalm 95:6

I Will Glorify the Lord Almighty

A Psalm - from desperation to inspiration

The Lord is good and His mercies are forever
He is my Sustainer and Strength in this weary land
No matter my earthly circumstances
I have all reason to praise His awesome name
for He delivered me and raised me from death

He set my soul free and covered me with His wings
Tears run down my face, as I meditate upon God,
Whom has great love for such a speck as I
The thoughts of these things stir my soul,
That He'll remember me and care for my needs

How far does His compassion reach
that He considers the depth of my heart?
My weakness and my strength are not hidden
from God neither my joy, heartache nor my pain
He supports and upholds me with His strong arm

He is the God of my salvation. He is my all in all
To live without Him would mean death and darkness
I need His Holy Spirit to hover over me day and night
I need His watchful eye to keep me from harm
holding me at safe distance from the devourer

He walks with me along this earthly path
until the end of days, when He takes me by the hand
carefully leading me to His eternal home
There will be no more hurdles... nor struggles...
The battle will be won, and my soul will be at rest

The Lord is worthy of all my worship
He is the One who searched for me and found me
His eyes have been upon me since an early age
He knew me even before I was conceived
And He will remember me when my days grow old

O my God and Lord, how I adore and worship You
My praise and adoration is yet incomplete
But the time will come, and is at hand
when the imperfect will be replaced by the Perfect
Then I'll remain, in worship, at God's side for evermore

Glory to the Father, and the Son and to the Holy Ghost

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. John 4:23

Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. I have remembered Thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept Thy law. Psalm 119:54,55

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come into His courts. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before Him, all the earth. Psalm 96:8,9

THANK YOU FATHER!

To Mother

Dear Mother of Mine

My sweet mother, so dear to my heart
How fondly I can remember you still
You've gone from my side, we did depart
Now you're resting on top of the hill

Even now I can see your hands and feet
Swiftly moving to provide for us all
Cooking, baking bread and some sweet
Just to keep us under control

You were with us when life revealed pain
About things we were quite unaware
You whispered gently, but with firm restraint
And kept us away from life's hidden snare

Often when nobody else was around
In the quietness of each new day
Gently to us came a whispering sound
As down on your knees you would pray

In bed, as you tucked us in with love
You would teach us your humble prayers
And you would come right from above
If we cried, after dreaming nightmares

Your hard work never came to an end
From early morning until late at night
tomorrow is near, as the present did relent
Before you could finally turn off the light

Your diligent work has paid off at last
For now in my heart I can clearly see
Through all these years our bond did hold fast
Once so precious between you and me

I wrote this poem in remembrance of you
A dear mother, who is not here anymore
To let you know that I appreciate all you did do
As one of seven children, whom you did adore

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. Deuteronomy 5:16

Father's Hand

Even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:10

THE FATHER'S HAND

O blessed are the little hands
of children of all race
They're reaching out to understand
what life is like in this maze

Their hands touch your and my life
as they seek to find their way
They get confused by all the strife
as this world is in disarray

Reaching out when they're in pain
for comfort by a stronger hand
leading the child to a higher plain
of God's peace, much needed in this land

Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up Thine hand: forget not the humble. Psalm 10:12

For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Psalm 95:7

My times are in Thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. Psalm 31:15

Even so must we reach out to God
for answers to our life's need
The soul may be a target of a plot
but God's hand saves from defeat

Our enemies are not up to par
against the power of our Lord
Satan may drag us into war
It's God's victory we can afford

The Father's hand is always here
leading His children on their way
His hand protects at front and rear
as we walk, profess Him and pray

O sing unto the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things: His right hand, and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory. Psalm 98:1

The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek Him. Ezra 8:22 b

All they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them. Luke 4:40

His hands touch us when we're sick
according to His precious word
We'll sense the Holy Spirit's click
as we seek direction of the Lord

There's pleasure in a touch by His hand
bringing peace, salvation and gladness
A stroke of love, one can't comprehend
restores the soul from sadness

When your life is in God's care
He'll hold you tight when you get low
He'll take you out of satan's snare
Father's hand will never let you go

Thou wilt show me the path of life: in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Isaiah 59:1

And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders. Deuteronomy 26:8

Holding me in His hands!

Reflection

Reflecting On Our Lives

The years flew by, while time was our teacher
I became mother and you were the preacher
There were days, that we did a lot wrong
being imperfect, our struggle was the "tongue"

Together, we shared joy and sorrow
all what was left is called "tomorrow"
Some days, I feel doing it over again
but those years we'll never regain

For past sorrow we don't have to mourn
to carry our burdens, Jesus was born
We better lift up our heads and go on
flying higher, till our time is gone

p.s.
It's hard to put my thoughts on paper
what lives in one's soul is like a vapor
It comes up then disappears just as fast
to catch the right words, is quite a task
Please, be so kind not to complain
for I've no words left for the refrain

For with Thee is the fountain of life: in Thy light shall we see light. Psalms 36:9

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27:14

Glorify Him

Now sing a song, to praise His Name
'cause we're so mighty glad He came
He took our sins, He carried our share
He set us free and taught us His prayer
Fly as a free bird, let your light shine bright
so man may see God and glorify His Might

O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth! Psalm 8:9

The Real Challenge

When you're young, the things life bring
seem to be exciting, for one thing
You'll meet new people and go places
you'll run short on time and phrases

For all the things, you see and hear
are so prominent for eye and ear
When you're older, you have a different view
at the fun you had and foolishness you did do

The episodes mankind goes through
suppose to teach us something new;
as time goes by these will pass away
only what is done for Jesus will stay

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. Proverbs 4:26,27

His Gift Of Life

How wonderful is His Love
and how thankful we can be
He is blessing us from above
with goodness for you and me

Therefore let's sing unto our King
with a new song in our heart
For life eternal He does bring
to us, who don't deserve this part

Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the loving kindness of the LORD. Psalm 107:43

Medley of Poems

Life and Love

Life is for the learning, but too often we stumble
Love is for the simple of heart and the humble
Of both, we can share with neighbor and friend
and give freely to those who don't understand
Because it is not our life and love we share
It is given by the Father so we may care

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. Titus 3:14

A Prayer For You

May your life reflect Christ's Love
May your treasures be stored above
May Jesus Christ be all you need
then you will have perfect joy indeed
May you be courageous and endure till the end
so we'll be together in the Promised Land

Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face continually. 1 Chronicles 16:11

Real Love

Love is something you cannot feel
although it is so very real
Love is something you cannot teach
but it's sure able to reach
Love is nowhere in this world for sale
when God given, will never grow stale
It only can be found
where Jesus is around

But God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalms 97:10

Reflection

Reflecting on your life
brings one thing to mind;
a beautiful baby boy
 just one of a kind

a teenager lad
as wild as can be
wandering the woods
crossing the rough sea

a young groom
holding his bride tenderly
a father of four
filled with glee

a greying man
who from this world does flee
It's all the same person
how can it be

Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God. Joshua 23:11

To A Friend

Though the future may at times look dim
you can have "Light", because of Him
If your mind appears to be in gloom
you still can choose salvation or doom
Either one, can be the choice you make
please, decide wisely, for your own sake

Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. Proverbs 4:14,15

Disappointment

It is not easy to see this world go all to pieces
as you walk with Him, from this stress He releases
Although the world's future does not look that bright
New heaven 'n earth awaits them, who're in the Light
So remember that my prayer for you will always be
to be strong in Him and not to flee

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Proverbs 3:25,26

Deeds, Not Only Words

I don't know what to write to you
because words will fade away
They often lose their meaning
or change from day to day

So, what I think I'll try to do
to keep my love for you
is not with promises or fancy words
but to take each day anew

I know, I need God's help in this
so I can do it right
to show my deeds, not only words
to make our love grow tight

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Thinking About You

Sometimes it's hard to know what to say
although there is much in my heart today
In years gone by, I have shown you the chart
now it is up to you to do your part

Many times unto the Lord I've cried
that you may see Jesus crucified
that you may give your life to Him
before it's too late and lights grow dim

Time goes fast and years fly by
don't waste your life, is my cry
Friends all may come and go
and you're old before you know

Your strength and beauty will disappear
there's no hope outside of Christ, I fear
So what will you have left at the end
if Jesus is not holding your hand?

Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto My knowledge. For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips. Proverbs 22:17,18

Another Year

May you feel, through this coming year
Jesus' presence very near
that in all the decisions you have to make
the wisdom of the Lord will overtake
and in all things you do or say
Jesus will be glorified, I pray

Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding. Proverbs 14:33 a
