sailing

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; these see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep. Psalm 107:23,24

SAILING ALONG

With the wind in the back
and a real captain on deck,
it is mighty good sailing.
With dark clouds in the sky
and a storm drawing nigh,
you may have to start bailing .

With Jesus standing at the rail
and faith blowing in your sail,
you are able to conquer the tide,
'cause He is steering the boat,
He knows how to keep it afloat,
you'll surely reach the other side.

With His Presence so near,
we will never have to fear,
if we allow Him to have full control.
Putting our trust in Him alone,
following the charts He has shown,
we will be victorious after all.

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. Psalm 96:11

ENDURANCE

When we travel the waters of life together
Holding hands, overcoming stormy weather
Our sails will be up, the wind may be high
But our love for each other will never die

We have laughed together and cried
We've seen the rain and the sun, which dried
We admired the skies, but the storm we feared
It was God's grace, by which we were reared

Now, many years have crossed our path
We've stumbled, came up and escaped His wrath
The time we've left let's cruise along
As experienced sailors singing a new song

The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waters of the sea. Psalm 93:4

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; but Thou brought us out into a wealthy place. Psalm 66:12

WHAT REALLY MATTERS

Life's like a vapor that disappears with the wind
It has just started and you're already at the end
Life goes by much faster than you think
Yet compared to all eternity it's merely a wink
When you're still young, time cannot go too fast
But in getting older, you're looking at the past

It really doesn't matter how far you're on your way
As long as you can see the Lighthouse' beaming ray
And while the sea of life is still roaring loud
You'll hear the captain of your ship shout
"Keep faith and courage, the end is near
Soon you'll dock at heaven's mere!"

So, with the wind of faith in your sails
You'll move forward withstanding the gales
Now, with the Lighthouse as your guide
You'll reach heaven's shore after a stormy night
Then you'll walk with your Captain hand in hand
With Jesus to lead you to the Promised Land

He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Psalm 107:29

THE SOLID ROCK

When the sea is roaring and the waves are high
When the cliffs look grim, remember Jesus is nigh
As we move along, with our sails wide spread
With Jesus at the rudder, we don't have to fret

When we sail together, through a stormy night
We better make sure that our bonds are tight
As the night's getting darker with turmoil and shock
We've to make certain that Jesus is our Rock

The Lord is my Rock, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my Strength, in whom I will trust. Psalm 18:2

THE PICTURE

Water is rushing to and fro
Splashing against rock, forever to flow
At the surface turmoil seems to appear
While deep down below quietness is near
The brilliant sky reflects in its mirror
Changing the colors without error
The tide is down and the sun is set
Calmness will stay till the elements have met
But for now it is well under control
It's harnessed in a picture, that's all

All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. Eccl. 1:7

When thou pass through the waters, I will be with thee.
